Accessibility in Slack

Simplified layout mode

Simplified layout mode in the Slack desktop app helps you focus by showing one section of Slack at a time. It minimizes distractions, which may help single-taskers and people using assistive technology, such as eye tracking or a head mouse.

Turn it on or off

  1. Click your profile picture in the sidebar to open the user menu.
  2. Select Preferences from the menu.
  3. Select Accessibility from the list.
  4. Under Simplified layout mode, select Turn on or Turn off.

Navigation bar

A single bar at the top of the app shows where you are in Slack, with a numbered badge for any unread items.
